A Year of News in a Quick Post
As with many clans, we have had more member movements, some happy, some sad.
Unfortunately Cinek and Reno had short lives in ><* and never made it to full member status, while Jeff did indeed become part of our family again, he too left to try and struggle with leading a clan of his own.
As for the others, I am proud to say Bloodsheder, Mexx, NoSh1t and Impact have all been promoted after long trials, their endurance has been exemplary.
Our newest round of trainees comes in the forms of some of the most experienced players in the community. From the plus side comes Foksie, joining us are former players of FUC Gasoline, Dasefex and 11. Finally, our long lost brother, Killer has rejoined us, putting behind any bitter feelings that have grown in his time away.
The face of the community has been ever evolving, with development of the next iteration of the mod being stagnant, we have however recieved a possible new look into the future with the popular Retro! servers. Which seems to appropriately deal with many of the issues raised in the e5 generation of configurations.
Clans too have been hit hard by the passing of time. Stalwarts of the mod have gone to the graveyard, namely FUC, while EN are just indefinately inactive and ED has returned from their brief lapse. Others are missing in action and we are unsure if we will ever see them return, thus leaving us with under a dozen active clans in the e5 side of the community. All is not lost, we have older players reforming to create new clans such as JDS and the new breeds and influx from the eastern block has made a big impact in the way of KTR.
Tournaments have been plenty over the last couple years, and as always, Mystery of X has been in the thick of it. Competing in two e6 team deathmatch tournaments, an e5r one and a capture the flag tournament, we have seen moderate success, but we always look to the future and hope to get a freeze tag tournament up and running.

X site update
You have probably noticed in the last weeks that the Mystery of X website wasn't updated and that is because we are currently working at a big website update. This update will include (amongst many programming and security updates):
After a while, we will also add some more features, like:
We will also offer for download the necessary files to build a new X website template for those who love creating templates.
each page will have a title reflecting its content
site will support templates (just like the phpbb forum) + the possibility to change the current template with the one you like better
the site will now look the same in all major internet browsers: Internet Explorer, Firefox and Opera
server browser will have an option that will allow you to refresh a server's info without reloading a page (guranteed reload time for a server: 200ms)
pb, pure and ff settings for all clanwars played
a new campaign: Save Mother Earth (you will find out more soon)
a brand new calendar system
After a while, we will also add some more features, like:

X forum hacked!
Well dear mates, I'm sorry to be the one to announce this but something awfully wrong happened last night: our forum was hacked and most of the posts in it have disappeared.
However, luckily I still have the texts of all posts in the database, all that was deleted was the links from the forum to the texts. We can't restore the links but after seeing this me and Alex have decided to increase the forum security drastically. So, from now on X forum will be upgraded to the latest version of phpBB in order to make sure this will not happed again.
I'm glad at least I got to back up the history, clanwars and members section on our website.
The new forum will be online soon and will be hacker-proof. After I install the forum, I will create a page on the website where you will be able to read the posts from this forum that were deleted.

This week, Mystery of X was offered a server by one of the Excessive Nature representatives: Secret aka Killing Baby.

Multitude more member migration
After 3 months as a trainee, showing increasing skills and commitment to the clan, we are now promoting IOD1O to full member status. Congratulations Antonio, but your learning does not end here, as with all of us, your development will go on. I think I can talk for all of us when I say welcome to the family.
The trainees shouldn't feel they have seen their brother fly the coup, but rather see a trainee join them, so here is Cinek. Our CTF team goes from strength to strength, and soon we will be ready to challenge the best in competitive CTF wars.
In a surprise triple decision, we are reinstating Jeff back into the clan, may your stay in the clan this time around be fulfilling and mutually beneficial to all. Welcome back... prodigal son.
