Mouse Tweaking (Part I) - in_mouse
1) Introduction to in_mouse
A few days ago I came across a thread on the Excessive+ Forum that mentioned a Quake setting named in_mouse.
After reading about it for a while, I started Q3 and decided to take a look at what this setting actually does. I've noticed that only two values have an effect on mouse performance: -1 and 1. I will try to describe each of them in a few lines:
2) How to change in_mouse parameters
There are two ways you can change your in_mouse settings:
3) Note
Please note that different in_mouse values may result in an altered mouse sensitivity.
Enjoy this setting!

After reading about it for a while, I started Q3 and decided to take a look at what this setting actually does. I've noticed that only two values have an effect on mouse performance: -1 and 1. I will try to describe each of them in a few lines:
in_mouse 1: this setting enables mouse events buffering which may sometimes result in slow game response to the mouse events. The advantage of this setting is that you can be sure that any event you send using the mouse will be received and processed by Quake.
in_mouse -1: This is the value I liked most for in_mouse because it disables mouse buffering and results in a very fast game response to my mouse clicks or movement. The drawback is that sometimes events might be lost and your game will not respond to your mouse actions.
2) How to change in_mouse parameters
There are two ways you can change your in_mouse settings:
I)Through your config:
Just change the in_mouse value from your config to the desired value and save the file. The changes will take effect as soon as the config is executed (probably the next time you start Quake)

II)In-game:
Type in the console in_mouse x, where x is the desired value (-1 or 1), then type in_restart for the changes to take effect.
