This article is a sequel for the Mouse Tweaking (Part I): in_mouse setting article.

Have you ever felt like your mouse responds very very slow to your actions? There are several things that could cause this, but what this article will discuss is the mouse rate. This mouse settings affects mouse response time at the operating system level so this will improve your mouse response rate for each application inside your OS.

But let's cut the smalltalk and get to the core of this article: The mouse rate.

First of all: in order to see if you really need to upgrade your mouse rate, you need to check your current rate settings. You can do this using the Mouse rate checker application we provide in our files section.

How to interpret the results:
125 Hz = 8ms mouse response time

250 Hz = 4ms mouse response time

500 Hz = 2ms mouse response time

1000 Hz = 1ms mouse response time
