Have you ever felt like your mouse responds very very slow to your actions? There are several things that could cause this, but what this article will discuss is the mouse rate. This mouse settings affects mouse response time at the operating system level so this will improve your mouse response rate for each application inside your OS.
But let's cut the smalltalk and get to the core of this article: The mouse rate.
First of all: in order to see if you really need to upgrade your mouse rate, you need to check your current rate settings. You can do this using the Mouse rate checker application we provide in our files section.

A few days ago I came across a thread on the Excessive+ Forum that mentioned a Quake setting named in_mouse.
After reading about it for a while, I started Q3 and decided to take a look at what this setting actually does. I've noticed that only two values have an effect on mouse performance: -1 and 1. I will try to describe each of them in a few lines:
2) How to change in_mouse parameters
There are two ways you can change your in_mouse settings:
Just change the in_mouse value from your config to the desired value and save the file. The changes will take effect as soon as the config is executed (probably the next time you start Quake)
Type in the console in_mouse x, where x is the desired value (-1 or 1), then type in_restart for the changes to take effect.
3) Note
Please note that different in_mouse values may result in an altered mouse sensitivity.
Enjoy this setting!
